Started surfing in Hawaii in 1961 and built his first board in 1962. Got hired by Hobie in 1964 till 1966, then hired by Challenger, Bahne, Channin/Diffendefer, before openning his own factory in Rhode Island in 1968. Became New England mens champ in 1970. Moved to Florida and won 3 east coast championships and 3 United States Championships, took Kelly to his first US win and to Hawaii in 1984 for his win there. 1995 moved back to San Diego, 1998 induction into the surfing hall of fame, 2008 2nd place Reef Brazil master board builders, 2009 Billabong art of shaping 1st place, 2013 induction into the International surfboard builders hall of fame, still have a lot to do for the rest of my life..
